Ealing Council is aiming to integrate its new case management software with the NHS Spine web portal for a Child Protection Information Sharing (CPIS) project.
It has recently gone live with the Mosaic system from Servelec and is aiming to make it easier for its child protection team to share information with relevant NHS bodies.
This should enable the NHS to quickly notify the council if a clinician has any concerns about a child.
It follows the roll out of the system in October and is part of the council’s plans to increase its interoperability.
Ricard Betts, managing director of Servelec’s local government business, said: “Now that the system is in place and being used, we can integrate with other solutions in order to greatly optimise the way Ealing’s workers interact with the system for the benefit of the citizens they serve.”
The council has implemented Mosaic for its child protection staff, intake service, disability service and community benefits teams. The software will enable them to access the records of its user base remotely, and is expected to make it easier to obtain whole family information once all of its functionality has been implemented.
The Spine supports the IT infrastructure for health and social care in England, providing connections for more than 20,000 organisations. Its web portal is accessible for users with N3 smart card users.
