Capgemini has won the tender from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to supply dashboarding support at its Peel Park facility to cope with post-Covid-19 pandemic demand.

The contract, awarded on 3 October 2022, runs until December 2024.

In the tender notice for the deal, DWP said it was "facing significant pressure to stabilise services and improve performance effectiveness in the wake of the pandemic". It has struggled to respond to a surge in demand and a growing backlog of cases across its various services.

Under the terms of the contract, Capgemini has been selected to provide the DWP finance department with the development of dashboards to monitor the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Pension and Retirement Services, Debt Management, Counter Fraud and Error Management Service (CFEMS), Jobseeker's Allowance Payment System (JSAPS) and product data management.

The contract value was published at £4,615,532 to £8,307,958 with a completion date of 31 December 2024.

In August, DWP appointed Craig Eblett chief technology officer following a 10 year career with the department in roles such as digital director and director of digital services. The PIP benefit technology was placed into a managed services agreement with Atos IT Services in June. The seven-year £31 million deal began in May and will see Atos manage technology services for PIP until 2019.
