The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has extended its contract with Capita to run the Job Entry Targets Support (JETS) programme in Scotland.
The deal with the company has been extended by eight months until March 2023 at a value of £7.7 million. It first won the deal for 12 months at a value of £21.7 million.
It said that since the programme was launched in January it has provided support for over 4,000 job seekers who had become unemployed due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
This includes the use of a portal for online learning, access to a skills library, an AI powered CV builder that links a user’s CV to a job feed, and an action plan and online calendar to help them back into work.
Minister for Employment Mims Davies MP said: “The £500 million expansion of our Plan for Jobs will continue to deliver for people of all ages across the country – giving them tailored support to find that next opportunity and really progress in their careers.”
