DWP Digital has emphasised the potential to improve the joining up of government services through the Reverse Pitch programme.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is collaborating on the programme with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), giving businesses an opportunity to showcase ideas and work with public sector teams on finding solutions for four problem statements.
These include a joint statement by the two departments on how they can work together to improve the effectiveness of joined up services.
Individual problems include: how the DWP can design more transparent, efficient and accessible communications to support citizens; how to reduce the learning curve for operations staff in their use of digital products; and how the MoJ can improve the rehabilitation process for offenders on parole.
Facilitating collaboration
Rich Corbridge, chief digital and information officer at DWP Digital, said: “Through the planning of the reverse pitch process we are aligned on how there can be more collaboration between government department. We hope the reverse pitch events can help to facilitate this.”
He added: “We are keen to look at how we can make integration between government departments more seamless. We are working very closely with MoJ on the reverse pitch events and hope this could pave the way for further collaboration between government departments.
“We are keen that any solutions developed have common components that could be shared across government.”
Businesses have been invited to take part in events in Leeds, London and Manchester on 29, 30 and 31 October.
