Durham County Council is asking local residents for feedback on the state of its digital services.
It has launched a consultation, set to run until 25 November, on attitudes to the services and to better understand how it should use digital technology and achieve improvements.
The council said more than 100 of its services are available online and more than 40% of customers currently use the relevant channels, but it wants to stay in touch with the changing ways people expect to make contact.
Councillor Joy Allen, portfolio holder for transformation, said: "The consultation is an important part of our development as a modern digital council. The public we serve has an important role to play in helping us to determine what is important to them and their feedback will enable us to shape how we develop and deliver digital services."
The consultation introduction outlines three key themes: improving access to services and information through technology; being responsive to customers’ needs and improving services; and helping people in the county to access and use new digital technologies.
It says the council wants people’s views to prioritise on these and that it is speaking separately with businesses and partners.
