The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has invited applications for a new round of government fellowships to bring technologists and scientists into its work.
It said the Science and Technology Fellowship Scheme, which was launched in 2023, will involve year-long, part-time placements within the department for 25 specialists from industry and academia.
The placements will be focused on four core themes: AI; technology including semiconductors, digital standards and telecoms resilience; futures thinking on issues such as quantum computing, climate security and space policy; and public sector innovation, including digital inclusion.
This is the third cohort of the scheme. DSIT said previous fellows have gone on to shape major government strategies and returned to their own organisations with new insights.
Applications can be made up to 3 June.
