The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) has added Investigo Government Solutions to its list of suppliers for the Matrix shared services programme.

The company has been awarded a two-year contract worth up to £8 million to provide service design, transition and transformation support services.

This has come two months after the award of contracts to Veran Performance and KPMG to contribute to the programme, which is developing an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for a group of central government departments and agencies under the Matrix programme.

Deliverables stated in an attachment to the contract award notice include a detailed service design with interim and target operating models, working with a technology partner and systems integrator and engaging with a range of stakeholders on service transformation. These are accompanied by requirements for skills transfer and delivery support for the service implementation pillar.

The award marks the latest stage in the programme, which is aimed at consolidating ERP, HR and finance systems across eight departments plus arm’s length bodies to improve interoperability and reduce costs. It is expected to produce £2 billion in savings against an investment of £900 million.

DSIT is the lead department.
