The Welsh Government’s Commercial Procurement Directorate is setting up a Welsh public sector commercial procurement element of the UK Knowledge Hub (Khub).

It said it should act as a virtual Welsh procurement community, with the initial advantage of bringing people together as they isolate and work remotely, and that it can provide access to online training and resources.

The Knowledge Hub is an online portal for public servants to connect digitally to communicate and share knowledge and best practice.

An announcement from the directorate said it will use the portal to share best practice and updates on its work to develop commercial capability skills. Early ideas include hosting case studies and capability newsletters (such as what is coming soon, initiatives under development and any training that may be available) plus links to e-learning developed around new procurement policy areas.

It will be the facilitator of the hub and develop the content, and is now asking for feedback on what potential users would like to see included. It has invited comments to vwpolicy@gov.wales by 14 May.
