Crown Commercial Service highlights heavy presence of SMEs in providing support for digital projects
The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has launched the new Digital Outcomes and Specialists 2 framework with an emphasis on the strong presence of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
It said that 94% of the 2,108 suppliers are from the SME sector, and this supports efforts for the Government to meet its target of spending £1 in every £3 with small firms by 2020 – the equivalent of about £15 billion per year.
The framework, which provides a route to contracting specialists to deliver digital projects, went live at the end of last week and is due to be active for 12 months, with the option of a 12 month extension.
It has over 800 more suppliers than the first version, with many having places on more than one of the four categories: 1,586 on digital outcomes; 1,774 on digital specialists; 85 on user research labs; and 181 on user research participants.
CCS has also highlighted that they are spread widely around the country.
The total number suppliers on the Digital Marketplace, through which the new framework is available, is now at 3,974 of which 93% are SMEs.
