The Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) has agreed on a deal with DXC Technology for the company to support its Information Management Services 4 (IMS4) programme.
The contract will run for an initial five-year term with a value of £36.17 million, but there is an option for a two-year extension that would take it up to £48.96 million.
DXC, the trading entity for EntServ UK, will replace Atos in providing the services when the latter’s IMS3 contract expires in October 2022.
While the contract award notice provides little detail, the original tender document for the IMS4 programme relates it to the transition of some services to an in-house ‘cloud team’ working with a partner, in line with a strategy set out in 2016.
“Our aim is to continue our transition to the cloud where possible, standardise and rationalise the number of solutions that we offer, and run them in collaboration with our selected partner,” it says. “We will deliver a new way of working that is underpinned by a clear operating model that defines roles, responsibilities and the flow of work between teams.”
