The Department for Education (DfE) has taken on digital consultancy The Dextrous Web (dxw) to support its work on the Regions Groups and SEND portfolios.
They have agreed on a £14.3 million service contract that came into effect at the beginning of this month to run for two years.
The company will support work on any digital, data and technology requirements for the DFE’s SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) programme, which is based on two strands of work: the development of a SEND Framework and toolkit; and the delivery of digital elements of the Delivering Better Value project.
It will also support the programme to create new free schools, to support the department’s interventions in failing schools, academies and trusts, and its efforts to support schools in converting to academy status.
The notice also indicates that the portfolio may expand into additional projects and services.
dxw has a significant presence in central government, having won previous contracts including those with the Government Digital Service to work on the GOV.UK Publishing Service and the Government Data Exchange.
