Skills Funding Agency joins in urging large employers to sign up to digital system
The Department for Education (DfE) and the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) have urged large employers to sign up to the new online system developed to support the launch of the apprenticeship levy in April.
It has been created to help employers manage the financial elements of recruiting and training apprentices.
The service includes a tool for employers to estimate their levy or co-investment contribution, begin to plan their training requirements and estimate their financial spending.
The DfE said this will help them to focus on their business priorities, address any skills shortages and invest in training.
Registration requires a Government Gateway log-in for PAYE schemes and a Companies House or charity number.
Sue Husband, director of the National Apprenticeship Service, said: “Employers have told us that they want to be in control of their apprenticeship programme and funding. They want to manage it quickly and easily, so we have designed the apprenticeship service to do just that.
“It’s really quick to set up an account, and employers that have already registered during our testing phase have told us how easy they found it.”
