Devon County Council has agreed on a four-year deal with Civica to use its CxTrading Standards software.
The contract will contribute to Devon’s wider transformation programme and take in the trading standards service it provides for itself, Somerset and Torbay Councils.
It is also planning to implement Civica’s Cx Citizen Portal in the future to provide online self-service for all trading standards licences. This will provide an integrated online platform for businesses and residents to apply and manage petroleum and explosive licences and business advice.
Cx Trading Standards is part of Cx Regulatory Services and should enable the council to improve its use of data analytics. All submitted information is sent directly to Civica Cx.
Emily Douglin, managing director, Civica Regulatory Services, said: “Cx Trading Standards and the connected citizen portal will enable regulatory services to collect, manage and share information more efficiently, improve services and increase engagement from local businesses.”
