The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) has agreed on a new contract with Made Tech for data platform development and support.
The four-year agreement came into effect last month and is valued at £6.8 million.
According to the newly published contract award notice it will involve supporting development of DBT’s Data Hub through multidisciplinary teams. The hub tracks how staff enable billions of points of international trade and investment each year.
Made Tech said that under the agreement it will support the department’s adoption of a customer relationship management system, provide data expertise to improve the platform and analytic tools with new products and features, and help to explore the possibilities for using AI. It will also support skills development and knowledge sharing.
The company said this builds on an existing relationship and will help DBT to gather data insights to shape trade and investment policies.
Last year the department supported £862 billion in UK exports, working with experts worldwide to unlock new trade opportunities.
