Defra signs risual and Eviden for AppDev services

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has agreed on a £74 million contract for application development with risual in a strategic partnership with Eviden.

Under the two-year deal, arranged through the Digital Services Provider procurement framework, the two companies will support Defra in developing new citizen facing digital services across a number of its programmes.

Eviden is part of the Atos Group focused on digital transformation and which provides a portfolio of patented technologies. Technology consultancy risual, a Node4 company, specialises in digital solutions and cloud services.

They said they will leverage their capabilities to support Defra’s digital transformation.

Improving public access

Colin Banno-Thornton, director of digital delivery at Defra, said: “At Defra we are transforming and improving the way information and services are accessed by members of the public and businesses.

“Following an open and transparent procurement process, this contract will support our development of a portfolio of digital services that will deliver our strategic objectives and ultimately benefit the environment."
