The Department for Communities and Local Government has launched the 2014 plan for its Local Digital Campaign - a major initiative to support and foster the development of excellent local digital services that the public choose to use.

The vision is to support Thought Leadership and the delivery of excellent seamless services to users across local and central government, with the key objectives of:
- Amplifying the best of digital innovation and culture change to accelerate public sector collaboration and use of digital to save money
- Creating lasting two-way knowledge and resource sharing between central and local public services
