The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) have agreed on a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) for UK public sector bodies to procure the company’s Greenlake edge-to-cloud solutions.
The MoU has been expanded from their 2020 arrangement to include services connected with the Greenlake portfolio, which HPE said will increase its practice use.
It will also give public sector customers access to the company’s environmental sustainability services, including a free assessment for the first 100 customers to help them create a sustainability strategy.
The new MoU takes in a wider range of computer products, with systems such as the composable, software defined infrastructure for hybrid cloud environments and high performance compute (HPC) for AI applications. It now also includes crucial storage capabilities, ranging from intelligent HPE Alletra Storage systems to storage solutions for mission-critical applications.
Accelerating modernisation
Philip Orumwense, commercial director at CCS, said: “CCS has renewed and extended our relationship with HPE through this updated memorandum of understanding which will help our customers accelerate their IT modernisation, achieve sustainability and utilise systems that harness the power of data to improve services for citizens.
“This MoU extends to cover all areas of HPE's portfolio including new key areas such as HPE's pay-as-you go GreenLake platform - making it easier for all public sector bodies, no matter how big or small, to get value for money.”
HPE said the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform will enable public sector bodies to flexibly scale and actively manage infrastructure utilisation at a granular level, eliminating overprovisioning and optimising energy consumption.
