HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has signed Version 1 to support the further development of digital services for civil and family courts.
It has agreed on a two-year, £9.6 million contract with the company to act as managed service provider for its Civil, Family and Tribunal (CFT) Programme.
HMCTS has set out a number of deliverables, including an end-to-end digital service for civil money claims and damages claims, the solutions for which are currently in public beta and private phases respectively.
The contract award notice specifies system-to-system integration, notably through APIs, between the HMCTS platform and those of solicitors and external organisations; along with the refactoring of the existing front end service and support of live operations.
The deal marks the latest step in HMCT’s efforts to digitise courts processes under its reform programme, which has been intensified by the shutdown of courts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Over recent months it has begun the nationwide roll out of the Evidence Presentation System for crown and magistrates’ courts, and moved all regular divorce applications online.
