HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) is developing a new service to makes its lists of hearings available online on the GOV.UK website.

It said that it currently the lists are not published in one place or a consistent format and the new service should make it easier for users to find.

An HMCTS blogpost said it is working with representatives of the media, legal profession the Litigants in Person Engagement Group through focus groups to understand the court users and feed into the design of the service.

It will include predictive search boxes to help members of the public find information quickly, and a function for legal professionals and people from the media to become verified users and subscribe to specific hearing lists.

HMCTS began testing the service last November and said it received positive feedback. It now plans to test it further with some changes, with the aim of making it available to a small number of courts by the spring of this year. It will then aim to expand the number.
