HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has broadened the scope for a planned support service for people to use its digital services.
It has issued an early engagement notice saying it wants to add a remote capability to the initial plan for a face-to-face service to help digitally excluded members of the public.
HMCTS is looking for a partner organisation with a good knowledge of digital support for processes such as completing online forms.
This comes in response to its recognition that, with more services going online under its £1 billion reform programme, not everyone will want to use digital channels and some will need support to do so.
The new service would require the partner to understand HMCTS digital services, be able to identify digitally excluded users, embed digital support into their current operating model and sit with established referral networks.
“We are looking to deliver a fully national service to ensure those that need to access this service can do so regardless of geographical location,” the notice says. “This may however be split into distinct geographical lots.”
No value has so far been attached to the programme.
