Royal Free London selects Unify collaborative communications
Royal Free London NHS Hospital Trust has signed a £2 million, five-year deal with Unify, formerly known as Siemens Enterprise Communications, to provide a unified communications (UC) platform for more than 6,000 clinical and support personnel. The project will help enable mobile and flexible working for hospital employees and boost inter-departmental collaboration. The pilot will be fully deployed by the end of 2014. Unify will provide its OpenScape suite of voice, unified communications and wireless mobility products as well as 6,300 extensions for IP-based SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) telephones, plus user training and support. Doctors and support staff will benefit from 'One Number' working, with desk handsets and mobile devices accepting all voice, data and e-mail communications, whatever their location. OpenScape gives the trust's ICT and estates departments flexibility to scale up or reduce system users, in line with changing care demands or changing clinical facilities.

East Dunbartonshire installs Smartvoice Viewpoint to measure customer satisfaction
East Dunbartonshire Council has deployed SmartVoice ViewPoint, a customer feedback solution from Sinclair Voicenet offering users interactive telephone-based surveys from pre-recorded questionnaires. The system went live at the end of January 2014 and is enabling the council to carry out more than 250 telephone-based surveys and further web-surveys each month to find out what customers think of the service they have received online, from the customer contact centre and in the face-to-face customer service hubs, the company says. The survey results will also help to identify the contact channels that people prefer and support any additional investment in developing and promoting these channels. SmartVoice ViewPoint also provides a web-based dashboard with reporting tools to create management reports.
