GeoPlace publishes digital mapping case studies
GeoPlace, the partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey which maintains the National Address Gazetteer and the National Street Gazetteer for England and Wales, has published a book of case studies from the organisation's 2013 Exemplar Awards for innovative use of local authority address and street information. The studies outline the importance of address and street data in driving efficiency through improvement and innovation, including the mitigation of traffic impacts on new developments in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets; supporting better waste management services in South Staffordshire; identifying and accurately recording local businesses to ensure fair local business taxation in Barnsley; enabling the database integration to identify sub-letting within council properties and unlicensed privately rented properties in the London Borough of Newham; and enabling the development of the cross-authority Housing Fraud Partnership in Huntingdonshire and surrounding districts. Becrypt introduces iOS mobile management solution for government
Mobile security specialist Becrypt has launched a new Mobile Device Management solution aimed at UK public sector clients. Becrypt MDM simplifies the task of meeting UK government guidelines for iOS devices by automating an otherwise cumbersome provisioning process and automating policy conformance, the company says. The solution targets the government's "Choose Your Own Device" (CYOD) model, allowing organisations to secure iPads and iPhones to handle OFFICIAL tier data. The solution will be available from Becrypt partners as part of a Software-as-a-Service security offering as well as through the G-Cloud framework. The automated provisioning tools can ensure an existing operating system is reset to provide a trusted platform. Toplevel adds seamless mobile support for Outreach case management
Public sector case management system supplier Toplevel has added responsive design features to the company's Outreach case management engine to offer web support for mobile devices. Outreach now automatically adapts the web interface to suit mobile or desktop users, displaying tailored web pages, fields and functions to suit the platform being used to access the portal. The responsive design feature is complemented by Design Studio, a feature that allows non-technical staff to customise and make changes to the Outreach system. "Outreach delivers a seamless experience to any user over any device.
