The City of London Corporation is to implement SAP’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) set of technologies using the German firm’s RISE programme.
This will modernise the core technologies used by staff at the corporation and move the organisation onto cloud based ERP.
Under the newly announced deal, the authority will migrate away from a legacy on-premise ERP platform to the SAP cloud based S4/HANA Cloud Public Edition ERP. RISE is a professional service offering from SAP that is set up to deliver cloud implementations.
Implementation will be carried out in four distinct phases, with the human resources being the first to be delivered, and corporation will adopt the SAP Business Technology Platform, Analytics Cloud, SuccessFactors and Concur. These are business process, data analytics, HR and expense management technologies respectively.
The deal is “in line with our new digital, data and technology strategy as well as our corporate plan,” said Dawn Wright, chair of the City of London Corporation’s Digital Services Committee.
The local authority said the technology will increase automation, collaboration, data sharing, and improve decision making. It will also improve visibility it on budgets, forecasts and payroll with a lower total cost of ownership.
