CILIP, the library and information association, has launched a series of open access, online learning modules in digital leadership for library workers.
Named Digital Leadership for Libraries, the programme is intended to encourage all public library workers to become confident digital leaders.
It involves five modules covering digital leadership, creativity, impact and marketing, along with data stewardship.
Each interactive module includes cast studies to help staff understand how to apply the learning in the workplace.
The programme comes from a collaboration between CILIP and the membership organisation Libraries Connected and is funded by Art Council England. It is part of the Public Library Workforce and Skills Strategy.
Art of the possible
CILIP chief development officer Jo Cornish said: “Being a digital leader is about mindset and being inspired by the art of the possible.
“These modules will allow us to connect the workforce with the right knowledge, tools and confidence to be digital leaders. We are certain that this will equip them with the skills to empower their communities and enrich their services for today and the future.”
