Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has launched a new public sector procurement framework for big data and analytics software and services.
Named Big Data and Analytics, it will run for two years with options for two one-year extensions, is the first of its type from CCS in the field and has been developed in line with the National Data Strategy.
CCS said the framework will support a variety of customer needs, from niche reporting and analytics projects to complete data service transformations.
It includes 49 suppliers, 46% of which are classed as SMEs, across two lots. The first is for design, build and run professional services, covering activities such as advanced analytics, data risking and search and discovery services. The second is for commercial off-the-shelf software for big data management, machine learning and artificial intelligence, reporting and analytics, data mining, risk and science, and search and data discovery.
Call-off contracts from the framework can last for up to five years.
Transforming services
Philip Orumwense, commercial director and chief technology procurement officer at CCS, said: “Data has the potential to transform our public services through enhanced productivity, helping to grow the economy.
“This new framework will support the requirements of the government and the wider public sector as they continue to use data to innovate. It is yet another example of how CCS is helping the public sector to continue on its digital transformation journey.”
