The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has published a procurement notice for a framework agreement worth up to £800 million, covering development and support of IT systems and data management by NHS Digital and other public sector health and social care bodies.
Bids for the four-year framework must be submitted by 24 September and contracts are due to be awarded in January 2021.
The work is split into five service areas, three covering specific phases of development as defined by the Government Digital Service’s agile project lifecycle. Digital definition services will focus on early extended discovery and alpha development; devops services will cover development and operations support for services that are already live; and build and transition services will cover beta and retirement phases.
There are two further areas: end-to-end development services covering all phases and data management and similar services, primarily targeted on “building, enhancing and maintaining data assets, migrating data from one system to another and analysis and reporting from such data assets”.
CCS published a prior information notice and ran supplier engagement sessions in May. According to the former, it expects to include approximately 12 suppliers in the framework allowing NHS Digital to develop strategic relationships with them over time.
