The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is planning to change the lot structure for the next iteration of its Technology Services procurement framework for the public sector.
It has published a tender notice for Technology Services 4 indicating that, while the scope of services covers the same range, it will include six main lots of which three will be divided into two, compared with five main lots with one divided into three under the existing framework.
The six main lots of the new agreement will cover: technology and digital consultancy services; transition and service integration and management (SIAM); end user services infrastructure management; application and data management; and major technology services transformation programmes.
Those for end user services, infrastructure management and application and data management will all include sub-lots for services of lower value and complexity.
Recasting distinctions
The plan has effectively recast the distinctions in the existing arrangement of: technology strategy and service design; transition and transformation; operational service; major services transformation programmes and service integration and management.
The new framework is scheduled to come into effect next December and run for two-and-a-half years with the option for a six-month extension, and is valued at up to £16 billion excluding VAT.
In its description of the new version, CCS says it will support a logical technology service lifecycle from strategy to design to transition and operational running, and provide for all service needs from disaggregation of large contracts to single vendor outsourcing.
Publication of the tender notice and the scheduled go live date have both been delayed by the delay in the implementation the Public Procurement Act until last month.
