The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) is planning a redesign and new name for one of its major public public sector procurement frameworks.
It has published a prior information notice for a Vertical Application Solutions contract to replace the existing Data and Applications Solutions, indicating it could have a value of up to £1.84 billion over a four-year lifespan.
It covers a range of software solutions, dropping the inclusion of hardware and professional services in the existing contract, with changes in the divisions of its five lot structure.
The product groups for local government, health and social care, police and emergency services and education are being replaced by new lots covering: education, community health and social care; housing, environment and planning; citizen services; and blue light solutions for emergency services.
The section for enterprise applications will become business applications, taking in processes such as revenues and benefits, finance and e-marketplace.
Expiration next year
The most recent CCS description of the Data and Application Solutions framework says it is due to expire at the end of February following a one-year extension, but the organisation has indicated the new framework will come into operation in February 2023, implying a further extension to the old one.
The notice says that CCS is still open to feedback on the proposed structure and service lines of the contract.
