The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has begun to lay the ground for a back office software procurement framework for the public sector.
It has published a contract notice indicating a value of up to £1.2 billion over four years.
The framework will involve just one lot but taking in a variety of functions, reflecting the nature of back office systems from the IT industry, and the CCS description of the framework points to it covering software-as-a-service offerings.
These include enterprise resource planning, human capital management, financial accounting, procurement, reporting, customer relationship management, workflow technologies, content services, service portal, integration software, support and maintenance for these services.
A prime requirement will be compliance with the National Cyber Security Centre’s Cyber Essentials scheme.
CCS is aiming to award the framework by May of next year.
