The G-Cloud 12 procurement framework has gone live on the Government’s Digital Marketplace today.
Crown Commercial Service (CCS), which manages the framework, said it has awarded places to 5,224 suppliers providing more than 38,000 services, marking a 12% increase from the G-Cloud 11 framework.
Over 91% of the suppliers are SMEs and 80% micros and small organisations.
CCS highlighted the new inclusion of a service definition document for all services, which it said provides a greater level of detail for potential buyers.
Paul Nolan, the organisation’s technology pillar director, said: “G-Cloud continues to be a great public sector success. It encourages innovation and improves services for UK citizens, by allowing customers and suppliers to find each other easily.
“Now, more than ever, SMEs have a crucial role to play in our economy, and G-Cloud is a proven method through which they can grow their businesses and support the national recovery.”
CCS added that since the first version of G-Cloud was launched in 2012 it has accounted for the procurement of more than £6 billion of cloud and digital services in the public sector, with almost 42% going directly to SMEs.
