The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has launched the Cloud Compute 2 procurement framework for the UK public sector.
Is said the framework builds on the first version and will give organisations more choice in how they access cloud technology solutions.
It will continue to offer infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service products, and there will be longer call-off options that other cloud agreements, and more flexibility to purchase new service offerings during the contract term.
The framework includes four lots – public cloud, value added services, public cloud support services, and cloud secure+ - the latter applying to services that handle information at above official security classification.
A total of 123 suppliers have been awarded places on the framework, which will run for three years with the option of an extension for one more.
Complements G-Cloud
CCS said it will complement current and future iterations of G-Cloud, providing a route to market for larger and more complex products while G-Cloud applies to smaller value requirements more easily purchased off the shelf.
