The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has updated its memorandum of understanding with Oracle for discounts and commercial benefits for public sector buyers on cloud applications and infrastructure.
The three-year deal replaces a recently expired MoU and covers infrastructure and software offerings along with support, maintenance and cloud migrations.
CCS said the agreement includes new benefits such as market driven support transition services, which gives customers the freedom to migrate ageing systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
It recommended that public sector organisation should use its Back Office Software and Software Design and Implementation Services frameworks for accessing the MoU.
Supporting journey
Philip Orumwnse, CCS commercial director and chief technology procurement officer, said: "This enhanced MoU will continue to deliver savings and benefits for new and existing public sector customers using Oracle's cloud based technologies. It will continue delivering value for money whilst supporting public sector customers' journey to the cloud."
Oracle said its Oracle Centre of Excellence can provide further support for public sector bodies in using its cloud services, and that it provides the only dual-region sovereign cloud for use by UK public sector customers.
It first signed an MoU with the UK Government in 2012.
The deal is the latest in a round of MoUs for cloud services between CCS and major providers, with others in recent months including AWS, Microsoft, IBM and UKCloud.
