Cardiff City Council has begun an online consultation of local residents on its digital services.

It said it wants to hear from people about their use of online services through its Digital Services Survey 2023.

The council said the move reflects the fact that more people are interacting with it digitally and more services are becoming accessible through digital routes.

Cllr Chris Weaver, Cardiff’s cabinet member for finance, modernisation and performance, said: “We want our digital services to become even more accessible and provide those services that matter the most to our residents. We know some residents will still need to be able to contact the council in person or on the phone, but by making it as easy as possible for people to use our digital channels we can make sure we’re providing services in ways that suit everyone.”

The council highlighted the positive feedback on its BOBi chatbot, which was launched in 2020, now engages in an average of 5,000 chats per month and for which 80% of users have found it okay, good or very good; and the Cardiff Gov App, which has been downloaded more than 79,000 times since its launch in 2018.

The survey will be open until 17 September.
