Contract with Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster lays ground for pan-London framework
The three London councils in the Tri-borough partnership have chosen BT as the sole supplier for an ICT procurement framework.
Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster, which share an ICT service and chief information officer, have agreed the deal as the latest of the frameworks to be developed since they formed Tri-borough as a shared services grouping in 2011.
It will take in a range of products and services including local and wide area networking, cloud services, fixed and mobile telephony, unified communications and online conferencing.
Wider availability
The framework will also be open for other public sector organisations in London, including all the local authorities, schools, police, Transport for London and social landlords. The Triborough group originally estimated its value at up to £200 million.
A spokesperson for BT said it becomes available for other organisations immediately, but no details have been provided on how they will be encouraged to take up the option.
Colm O’Neill, managing director, major and public sector of BT, said: “We see this very much as a partnership with the organisations involved and they’ll be able to play a part in shaping the future direction of travel of the framework and the products available on it.”
