Blackpool Council has signed a £2.8 million contract with TechnologyOne to use its OneCouncil ERP platform.

The company said the software-as-a-service will provide financial and business management tools for the unitary council, along with Blackpool Coastal Housing, Blackpool Transport Services and its educational academies.

Functions include general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, e-procurement and invoicing, budget setting and monitoring and journal and report writing.

The platform will replace an on-premise system from Advanced.

Council Leader Lynn Williams said: “By introducing new intuitive enterprise planning software which our employees can access from anywhere, we’ll be able to automate more processes, speed-up decision making and ultimately drive improvements at the council which deliver better services and value for local communities.”

Blackpool is the first unitary authority to adopt the platform.
