The Bank of England has taken a step towards further exploiting the potential of its Oracle Cloud platform with the agreement of a contract with Version 1 to act as strategic integration partner.
Under a deal that could run for up to six and a half years and is valued at £8.7 million, the software service provider will support the implementation of technical and change management aspects in using the platform and the associated business change programme.
“This programme is intended to deliver a step change in the capabilities and value delivered by the finance, procurement and recruitment functions in the Bank, leveraging the existing Oracle Cloud tool set to drive sustainable business change,” the contract award notice says.
The Bank indicated its intention to make more use of public cloud services in early 2020 as part of its One Bank Services Transformation strategy.
