Aberdeen City Council has moved all of its data for adult and children’s social care onto a single system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
It said it is bringing the workflows, of which around 80% were previously off the system, into one place with case workers being given access through a single portal.
The system has been designed by council social workers for practitioners to record case work and manage complex cases, and to give partner agencies access to key information.
The council has indicated it has plans to integrate machine learning and artificial intelligence functions to support more predictive care.
The move has been part of a wider move of critical applications and data from on-premise data centres to Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
Andy McDonald, Aberdeen’s director of customer services, said: “We understood that digital was the key to establishing innovative and integrated public services and were delighted to partner with Microsoft in creating bespoke solutions for our customers.”
